Sewing Buttons Quick Tip

I was sewing some tiny buttons on a summer dress this morning, and thought I’d share a super simple solution for keeping the buttons in place until you stitch them on. Just use scotch tape to tape them to the fabric and stitch right through the tape! It peels off easily after sewing, and it works both for sewing the buttons on by hand or machine. Easy!

If you’re stitching your buttons on by machine, its quicker to hold off cutting the thread till youre all done, then pull the fabric from the machine and snip all the threads at once.

See? A nicely sewn vintage button, quick and easy!
